1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to the Packlio iOS application (the “App”) and the website packlioapp.com (the “Site”). It does not apply to third-party services, websites or apps that may be linked from the App or the Site.
Packlio is a local-first app. Your packing templates, trips, items and history are stored on your device. We do not run accounts and we do not upload your packing data to our servers.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Data stored locally on your device
The following data is created and stored entirely on your device by the App. We do not have access to it:
- Packing list templates you create (titles, items, categories).
- Trips you launch from templates (name, dates if you enter them, packed/unpacked status of items).
- Trip history archived after a trip ends.
- App preferences (e.g. units, sort order, theme settings).
This data stays on your device. It is included in the standard iCloud / iTunes device backup managed by Apple, if you have enabled such backups in iOS Settings. We have no access to those backups.
2.2 Data you send us voluntarily
When you contact us through the support form or by emailing hello@packlioapp.com, we receive the information you provide (typically your name, email address, the message content and any attachments). We use this only to reply to your request.
2.3 Technical information from the App
Packlio does not embed third-party advertising SDKs or tracking SDKs. The App does not collect identifiers for advertising, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera data.
Apple may collect aggregated, anonymised crash reports and usage metrics through standard iOS diagnostics if you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings. We may use this information solely to improve stability and performance of the App. We cannot identify individual users from it.
2.4 Website data
The Site is a static informational website. Your browser may transmit standard request data (IP address, user-agent string, referrer) to our hosting provider for the duration of a request, which is used solely to deliver the page and to maintain basic operational logs. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking on the Site.
3. How we use data
- To operate the App and provide its core features.
- To respond to your support requests and other communications.
- To investigate and fix bugs and improve stability of the App.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or to build behavioural profiles.
4. Legal basis for processing (EEA / UK users)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and respond to support requests you initiate.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the App and Site secure and to improve their quality, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
- Consent — where you explicitly opt in (for example, by ticking a consent box in the support form).
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
5. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose information only:
- To trusted service providers acting on our behalf (for example, our email and hosting providers) under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms;
- To comply with applicable laws, lawful requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Packlooap, our users or others;
- In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will require any successor to honour this Policy.
6. Data retention
- App data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
- Support correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 24 months) to maintain a record of the issue.
- Website request logs are kept for short operational periods as set by our hosting provider.
7. Children's privacy
Packlio is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at hello@packlioapp.com and we will delete it.
8. Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorised disclosure or access. Because most data stays on your device, securing your device with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID is the most effective protection you can apply.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Request portability of data you have provided to us;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the support page or by emailing hello@packlioapp.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site and, where appropriate, communicated through the App.
